Following the recent recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), has made the difficult decision to cancel all upcoming basketball championships as well as spring competition, effective immediately. For Bevill State Community College, this includes the Baseball ans Softball seasons.

The Alabama Community College Conference informed its member colleges, which includes Bevill State Community College, that the decision had been made to suspend all regular season competition for all teams, effective Friday, March 13 through April 3. This decision is based on the latest developments and the continued spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

games are cancelled:
March 14 – Away game with Calhoun Community College
The Baseball team hosts Mineral Area College at home in a series of three games beginning with the first game on Friday at 1 p.m. A Doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday at 12 p.m. All game dates and times are scheduled to change without notice due to weather and field conditions.
Due to weather, Bevill State Softball has had to cancel its first two home games. Now that the game scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 20 against Roane State has also been cancelled, the first official home softball game will now be played Saturday, Feb. 22 against Lake Land College. The game is a doubleheader with games scheduled for 12 and 2 p.m.
The Bevill State Bears host the Cougars of Lawson State Thursday at 7 p.m. This is the last home game of the season and it is also Sophomore Night. Prior to the game, the Jasper Campus SGA will be hosting a tailgate beginning at 4 p.m., and recognition for the team’s sophomores begins at 6:40 p.m.
