The Bevill State Bears host the Cougars of Lawson State Thursday at 7 p.m. This is the last home game of the season and it is also Sophomore Night. Prior to the game, the Jasper Campus SGA will be hosting a tailgate beginning at 4 p.m., and recognition for the team’s sophomores begins at 6:40 p.m.
The Alabama Community College Conference named Bevill State Guard as the ACCC Basketball Player of the Week. Tate, a freshman from Marietta, Ga, scored 33 points per game; had two rebounds; a field goal percentage of 51%; and an 88% free throw percentage.

Boys and girls in grades 3 through 11 looking to improve their basketball skills can attend the “March Madness” Basketball Camp hosted by Bevill State Community College March 26 through 28 in the Glen Clem Gym on the Jasper Campus.
The camp, conducted by Bevill State coaches and players, is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. Registration for the first day begins at 8 a.m.

The 6th seeded Bears will face the 3rd seeded team from Enterprise State Community College on Friday, March 1 at 7 p.m. in Enterprise. If they win, the Bears continue on to play in the ACCC Tournament at Lawson State Community College in Birmingham.

For the second time this season, BSCC's Wanya King, a sophomore guard , has been named the Alabama Community College Conference Player of the Week. The Fort Payne, Alabama native led the Bears with 29.5 points, 5.5 rebounds with three assists and two steals while shooting 55.6% from the field and 100% from the charity stripe. Bevill State Basketball’s last home game of the season is Monday, Feb. 18 on the Jasper Campus. It features several special events, including recognition of the team’s five sophomore players.

The Bevill State Bears take on the Bison of Southern Union State Community College Monday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $6 for the general public and BSCC students and employees are admitted free with a BSCC ID.
